National Culinary Arts Month

This month is observed to celebrate
the art of cooking. It is also the time
to promote awareness of the
professional cook or chef and their
contributions to culinary trends.
This display shows a variety of
books to encourage your culinary
curiosity.

Bioterrorism/Disaster Education and
Awareness Month 

You can protect yourself in an emergency by
taking the time to prepare forpotential disasters. 
On this display you will find several books
concerning disasters and disaster preparedness
including bioterrorism and biological agents. 

National Recreation and Parks
Month
The official purpose of National
Recreation and Parks Month is to
showcase and invite community
participation in quality leisure
activities for all segments of the
population.  In other words, it is a
time for you and your family to get
outside and enjoy the sunshine by
visiting our nation’s beautiful
National Parks!  Our display gives
you some ideas.     

Creative Artists Display
In July we are featuring
Weslaco’s creative artists whose
inspiring works merit
recognition and attention.
Samples of some of the work of
some of these artists are on
display on the second floor of the
Weslaco Public Library as part of
our Texas collection.  The
Library deeply appreciates the
generosity of John Haden, Dr.
Craig Wiegand, Roel Flores, and Adan Vela who provided reproductions of
their art for this display.
